I am a librarian in Teen Services at a branch of the East Baton Rouge Parish Library in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I moved there after completing my Master’s Degree in Library Science from the University of South Carolina. I have always been passionate about history, education and the value of books in all of their forms. I also love how quickly we can access information through the immediacy of the web, especially social networks like Facebook and Twitter. I look forward to the next step in my professional career as a librarian.
I studied History and Classics as an undergraduate. Little did I know that the research skills I developed would lead me to my chosen career in library and information science. I have also spent a large part of my working life in the retail/customer service industry. I believe this experience is invaluable to anyone who works in libraries.

Nice blog! I got this from Virginia Sanchez via Careers in Federal Libraries. Did you get a job yet? I just graduated in May 2011 also from U of AZ. No luck yet.
